The banner of the castle of Bouillon, from where the illustrious Godefroy de Bouillon set out in 1096 to change the course of History, this signet ring is worn in tribute to his courage, with respect for his exceptional determination guided by sincere convictions that led him to refuse the throne of Jerusalem, refusing to wear a crown of gold where Christ had worn a crown of thorns.

It is composed of a large Greek cross quartered by 4 small crosses, also Greek, symbol of the four Gospels or the four directions towards which the word of Christ spread from Jerusalem.
It is the Passion of Christ that prompted the Franciscan Custody to adopt this Cross. Indeed, for many, the number of crosses (four small and one large) symbolizes the five wounds of Christ on the Cross.
According to tradition, the coat of arms of Jerusalem (argent, a cross potent or, quartered by four crosslets of the same) deliberately contravenes the rules of heraldry, to better mark the particular prestige of this city. Indeed, the science of heraldry forbids the superimposition of two metals. In this case, the gold crosses are superimposed on the silver background.

Sizes 54 - 62 - 64 - 66 and 68 remain in stock. The replenishment of the other sizes (56 & 59) is planned for Christmas 2026 in the other sizes.
