Guillaume de Sonnac Shirt - Sky Blue Oxford
Made in France
Understated, bright and timeless, this sky blue Oxford shirt is part of the exclusive collection designed by Templar Soul and made in France for the House.
Its fitted cut, without being overly tight, creates an elegant silhouette while remaining comfortable and suitable for different body types.
Its Oxford fabric gives it that classic masculine look that allows it to be worn just as naturally with dress trousers as with chinos or denim.
On the chest, an embroidered Templar cross in navy blue cotton thread discreetly marks the shirt. A deliberately understated detail: the symbol does not need to be imposing to be recognized.
Guillaume de Sonnac — Master of the Temple
This shirt bears the name of Guillaume de Sonnac, Master of the Order of the Temple from 1247 to 1250 and a figure of the VIIth crusade led by Louis IX.
Already an experienced dignitary of the Order before his election, he joined the crusade and participated in the capture of Damietta in 1249. At Mansourah, in February 1250, the Templars were drawn into particularly deadly battles. Guillaume de Sonnac was seriously wounded there and lost an eye, but survived the first clash and returned to battle.
A few days later, he died in new battles. Medieval chroniclers notably remembered him as a prudent man and experienced in matters of war.
It is this idea of discretion, constancy and commitment that we chose to evoke through a shirt that does not seek to turn History into a costume: it simply bears its symbol.
