Templar Soul Polo - Black & Orchid - Permanent Collection
An exclusive Templar Soul creation, this polo is made in the Maison's factory in Fafe, Portugal
There are pieces that transcend the seasons without ever leaving a collection.
This black long-sleeved polo is one of Templar Soul's essentials.
Made in Fafe, in northern Portugal, from high-quality piqué cotton, it combines the understated elegance of a timeless menswear classic with the historical details that define the Maison's universe.
On the chest, the Templar Cross is embroidered in an orchid shade, a deliberately bright purple. Purple is deeply rooted in Christian tradition and its spiritual dimension; here, we chose to lighten it, as if allowing the color itself to journey toward the light.
This touch of orchid, subtle against the deep black, is also found in the finishes and gives the polo its instantly recognizable identity.
Three metal buttons adorned with the Templar Cross, specially crafted by the Valongouro jewelry house in northern Portugal, replace traditional polo buttons. A jewel-like detail that gives the garment a more precious, assertive, and masculine touch.
Why Portugal?
The choice of Portugal is not based solely on the reputation of its textile industry.
There is a particularly fascinating connection between this country and the history of the Temple.
After the suppression of the Order of the Temple in the early 14th century, King Denis I of Portugal secured the creation of the Order of Christ, to which a portion of the Templars' assets and heritage was transferred in Portugal.
Its headquarters were then established in Tomar, whose famous convent still bears the imprint of this history today.
A century later, the Order of Christ was closely associated with Henry the Navigator. Prince, patron, and organizer of Portuguese maritime ventures, he gathered around him navigators, cartographers, and men of knowledge who took part in the momentum of Portugal's great explorations.
Later, Vasco da Gama, himself linked to the Order of Christ, opened the sea route directly connecting Europe to the Indies by sailing around the Cape of Good Hope.
Thus, having this piece made in Portugal had a meaning for Templar Soul that went far beyond the simple choice of a production site: bringing together contemporary European textile craftsmanship and a land intimately linked to the history told by the Maison.
